Hello, my name is Sarah. I’m interested in building a home in the Bartlesville area. I’m wondering what the first step is in the process of talking to a builder. I live in a nearby town but looking at land and lots. Could you give me some information?  Thank you.

Here is how we responded:

Hi Sarah,

1. The first step is finding a building site, a lot or land. 
   

2. Next, you need a floor plan. We have an inventory of hundreds of homes we’ve built and plans to choose from and modify. We can also draw a new plan from sketches or web site designs you may have.
   

3. The third step is evaluating connections like electric, gas, water, and sewer/septic. Are they already available or on land, would you have to access them far away, which adds to the cost.
   

4. The fourth step is to learn more about builders. We’re attaching a feature sheet here.

5. Finally, for these initial steps in building a home (there are many, many more!), a meeting with us is the best way to get acquainted and see if building together is a good fit.
